Terms of Service
Effective 8 September 2026
These terms govern your use of Crypto Tax Report (CTR), a web application that imports your cryptocurrency transaction history and calculates capital gains and income figures for tax reporting. By creating an account or using CTR you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use CTR.
1. Who provides CTR
CTR is operated by Baltas Mazgas, registered in Lithuania, company code 307574335 (“we”, “us”). You can reach us at [email protected].
2. What CTR is, and what it is not
CTR reads transaction history you import — exchange CSV exports, read-only exchange API keys, and public blockchain addresses — and applies cost-basis accounting and the tax rules of the country you select to produce figures, reports and tools such as reconciliation and tax-loss harvesting estimates.
CTR does not provide tax, legal or financial advice. Its output is a calculation based on the data you supplied and the settings you chose. Tax law varies by country and changes over time, and your personal circumstances may call for a different treatment than the one CTR applies. You are responsible for reviewing the output, for the accuracy and completeness of everything you import, and for what you file with any tax authority. We recommend that you have a qualified tax professional review the figures before filing.
Where CTR cannot determine something from your data — an unclassified transfer, a missing market price, a disposal larger than your recorded holdings — it holds that item out of the figures and flags it for your review rather than guessing. Figures shown while items remain flagged are incomplete by design.
3. Your account
You must be at least 18 years old to use CTR. You may create an account with an email address and password, or by signing in with Google or Facebook; in the latter case the account is linked to the verified email address that provider reports.
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission. Changing your password signs you out on every device.
You must give us accurate information and keep it up to date. One person may not maintain more accounts than they reasonably need, and accounts may not be shared or transferred.
4. Your data and third-party connections
When you connect an exchange, CTR asks only for read-only API access and never for withdrawal or trading permissions. When you add a wallet, it reads public blockchain data for the address you give; it never asks for a private key or seed phrase. Exchange credentials and any AI provider keys you save are stored encrypted.
You retain all rights to the data you import. You grant us the right to store and process it solely to provide CTR to you, including background calculation and the generation of your reports.
CTR can generate read-only links so that an accountant of your choice can view your figures, transactions and reports. Anyone holding such a link can view that data until it expires or you revoke it; sharing a link is your decision and your responsibility.
If you use the optional “Ask AI” feature with your own AI provider key, the details of the transaction you ask about are sent to that provider under its own terms.
You may delete your transactions, disconnect any source, and close your account at any time. How we handle personal data is described in our Privacy Policy.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use CTR for anything unlawful, or to evade tax obligations;
- attempt to access accounts or data that are not yours, or probe, scan or disrupt CTR;
- upload malicious files or content, or automate requests in a way that degrades CTR for others;
- reverse-engineer, copy or resell CTR or its output as your own product.
We apply rate limits and automated monitoring to protect CTR and its users, and may suspend an account that violates these terms.
6. Market prices and third-party data
Historical and current prices come from third-party providers. They may be unavailable, delayed or, for some assets and dates, unobtainable; CTR then flags the affected transactions instead of inventing a value. Exchange and blockchain data is read as the source reports it. We are not responsible for errors in third-party data, but we do our best to surface them to you.
7. Fees
CTR is currently provided without charge. We may introduce paid plans or features in the future; any fees, and the terms that apply to them, will be shown before you are asked to pay, and existing accounts will be told in advance.
8. Intellectual property
CTR, its software, design and content (excluding your own data) are owned by us or our licensors and protected by intellectual property law. These terms give you a personal, non-transferable right to use CTR; they do not transfer any ownership.
9. Availability and changes to CTR
We aim to keep CTR available but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation; maintenance, upstream provider outages and other factors can interrupt it. We may change, add or remove features, and may change which countries’ tax rules are supported, at any time.
10. Termination
You may stop using CTR and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these terms, that we reasonably believe is being used fraudulently or abusively, or where required by law. On termination your right to use CTR ends; sections 2, 4, 8, 11 and 12 survive.
11. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
CTR is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including that the figures produced are complete, accurate or fit for filing without review.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss, for loss of profit or data, or for any tax, penalty, interest or other amount assessed against you by a tax authority, arising from your use of CTR or reliance on its output. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Lithuania. Disputes are subject to the courts of Lithuania, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rules of the country where you live. Consumers in the European Union may also use the European Commission’s online dispute resolution platform.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The effective date at the top shows the current version. For material changes we will notify registered users by email or an in-app notice before the change takes effect. Continued use after that date means you accept the updated terms.
